What is Express Entry Proram?

Express Entry is an online system used by the Government of Canada to manage applications for permanent residence. It is used to select candidates for immigration to Canada through the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, and certain Provincial Nominee Programs.

The Express Entry system was launched in January 2015 and is designed to make the immigration process faster and more efficient.

To be eligible for Express Entry, applicants must first create an online profile and submit certain documents, such as proof of language proficiency and educational credentials. Once the profile is complete, applicants are placed in a pool of candidates and given a score according to a Comprehensive Ranking System. This score is based on factors such as age, work experience, language proficiency, and other criteria.

The highest-scoring candidates are then invited to apply for permanent residence through regular Express Entry draws. Candidates who are invited to apply have 90 days to submit their application.

Applicants who are not successful in the Express Entry system may still be eligible to apply for permanent residence through other immigration programs.
